Portable Water Supply

Machakos County is generally a semi-arid land, with water resource scarce to meet the human and animal needs. Such has been over dependence on streams and riverine waters for consumptions. However, more often these are contaminated by human activities, and the next best alternative has been sub-surface water sources, which are relatively clean and safe for consumption in areas away from industrial occupancy albeit very costly a venture to undertake. HOREC’s location in a Peri-urban – semi-rural area has been a blessing as her sub-surface water resource is the least contaminated and salty in the area.

Distribution pipes run from HOREC’s water distribution point through to and connecting into clients’ homes within the community at a fee surcharged to the clients’ accounts at the end of the month. This has been a steady income for HOREC since starting the venture.
