Children’s home near Nairobi
About 60 km east of the city, in Kangundo.
From Nairobi’s slums to Kangundo
HOREC’s story starts in Nairobi. In 2005 our founder, Christine Wambui, was giving ARVs and food aid to people living with HIV/AIDS in the city’s slums, and opened her home to their children.
Today the children live at our home in Mutalia, Kangundo, Machakos County, about 60 km east of Nairobi on Kangundo Road, with a school, a clinic and clean water on site.
